Cook Out Time With The Weber 751001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill
Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the propane gas or natural gas grill as much as the next person, but when it comes to grilling, barbecuing or cooking out. However you might call it, I prefer the flavor you get from grilling on a good ole’ charcoal grill. Like myself there are many other people that prefer this special taste, you know what taste I’m talking about!! The juicy, tender, smoky and straight off the charcoal grill taste, you can only get from grilling on a charcoal grill, yes sir!, you can’t get that drooling off of the side of your mouth taste, finger licking taste from an electric grill. You can only get that from a gas grill. That’s why I got me a Weber 751001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill. The metal grate for the charcoal is very ingenuous allowing air to flow up beneath the charcoals, and that helps to keep them hot, the cooking grate is ingeniously designed as well, with two sides able to be flipped up so that you can add more charcoal if needed.
The big cooking grate is awesome. I can throw potatoes, corn, hot dogs and so much other stuff on the grill at once and it doesn’t matter where it falls, if you spread your coals evenly and correctly, everything cooks to perfection whether on the outside of the grate or on the center of the grate. The Weber design has a lot to do with this and the grill’s ability to distribute heat evenly. One of the best features of the Weber 751001 22.5-Inch One-Touch Gold Charcoal Grill, is the ash catcher. I’m a big fan of the Weber brand but the differences between the silver and the gold Weber grill are pretty big, the gold Weber it’s the best choice, in my opinion.
The ash catcher on the gold model is like a pan and can hold a lot of ash and hot charcoal bits, compared to the ash plate on the silver Weber, ashes and charcoal bits can and will fall off of the plate on the silver model. Well moving on, I’ve been grilling on my Weber for quit a while now, and overall I have to say that I’ve been able to grill some pretty delicious baby back ribs, to perfection.
And as for durability I’ve had my Weber 751001 grill for about three years now, and it’s still looking good and performing the same way it did when I first fired it up and it’s doing it marvelously. This Weber, could be called the Mercedes Benz of grills. Go ahead and grab your Weber grill. With this grill, you can go ahead and chill in your backyard and not even worry about how the food’s gonna turn out. Let me tell you all the stuff I cook in this baby. I cook anything from: sirloin steak T-bone steaks pork chops, spare ribs of course, pork tenderloin beef tenderloin small rack of lamb, chicken breast, chicken wings, chicken drumsticks a whole chicken cut in center and butterflied, fish all types, vegetables, potatoes, and believe it or not I’ve made this desert like thing called a cheese flan. There you have it. I give this grill a thumbs up. I have a really cool and very useful tool on this site, called the FREE, 90% off deal finder tool. Feel free to use it when you are ready to get the Weber 751001 22.5 inch charcoal grill. I guarantee you will love this tool, I do!
The optional little bent-wire style of charcoal retainers help keep the coals out to the side when you want to use a drip pan in the center.
The chimney style charcoal start for ecological reasons. It is also just plain faster to use as well, and it is made of heavy gauge metal that is both attractive and long-lasting.
With an optional rotisserie and it comes with an extension ring that is also useful for other cooking options.
A hinged cooking grate and an enclosed ash catcher.
It has no side table to place the food both before and after cooking.
Weber has replaced the wooden handles on the grill and top with a plastic or composite of some sort, and if the top stays over the fire for a significant period of time, the handle gets almost too hot to hold. Hard to beat, March 8, 2006 By Carlgo (Carmel Valley, CA) (VINE VOICE)
When it came time for us to get a new charcoal grill I searched every site and checked out dozens of different grills, some costing many hundreds of dollars, all promising some advantage.
Some units were really interesting, and not too expensive, but upon close inspection many of these proved to be tinny and cheaply made. The very expensive systems were very nice, but did not offer rotisseries and other useful accessories and were just too expensive for us anyway.
So, we ended up with another Weber, the Gold Model. In the many years since our last Weber, there have been a lot of improvements that kept it attractive. The ash catcher really does make cleanup much easier and the vent system is more functional. The grill itself has the…Click Here To Read More
Solid Grill With Only One Complaint,July 1, 2006 By Carolyn Vo Amazon Verified Purchase
We bought this grill as our first grill based on reviews. The Weber grill is a solidly built grill. You don’t feel they skimped on materials when they built this. Assembly was only difficult when installing the base ring for the ash catcher but once I got past that, it was easy. The metal grate for the charcoal is…Click Here To Read More
Some improvements aren’t, June 29, 2006 By G. Breen Bland (Memphis, TN USA) – (REAL NAME) This review is from: Weber 751001 Gold One-Touch 22-1/2-Inch Kettle Grill, Black (Lawn & Patio)
The One-Touch grill cooks just as well as the old Weber kettles I’ve used over the past 30 years, and is easier to clean, but…Click Here To Read More

I had my reservations because of some of the “made in China” reviews on here. Mine arrived via FedEx 15 minutes ago. The box is not damaged. The lid though, is dented on the lip for about 3 inches and under one side of the lid handle you can see bare steel–this WILL rust…
The body has no issues. It’s as if the lid was dropped before packing damaging the top handle and denting the lip–and it was packed anyway. Unacceptable for…Click Here To Read More
