How To Keep Your Dog Feed And Watered Without Being Home

When my sisters birthday rolled around Three months ago. I was faced with the question of, how to Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain 168ozkeep my dog  feed and watered without being home. Now, let me explain to you why taking my dog with me was out of the question.

The last time I took my dog on a plane he got very sick, dehydrated and had a terrible case of  anxiety attack, so flying him that was out of the question, I didn’t want to put him through that ordeal yet again. The other option was to leave my little pooper with my friend, after all I was only gonna be gone for a weekend, however my friend has 2 dogs.

And the few times my dog has come across those two it was nothing but awful  they always fight. So that wasn’t a good idea. Then after thinking for a few hours. It dawned on me that, I do have a doggie door at home. He can come in and out to do his thing outside and I don’t really have to be there to open the door for him, the property is fenced in.

I also have one of those Large Automatic Pet Feeders , the one i’ve got is automatic and programmable and it holds 45 cups of dry food, and I can program it for 3 days  1/2  a cup portions, 3 times a day. So the food and bathroom arrangements were set, now how about the water?. That’s where I was lacking a solution, because even though I’ve heard and seen the different pet fountains, I had never seriously thought about getting one.

I didn’t think that the water was gonna stay fresh enough because my dog most of the time drinks water right after he eats so I have to change his water and wash his water bowl at least twice a day, especially after I feed him soft food, because he’ll get food particles on his beard and it’ll drop in the water bowl. But after looking around, I found The Drinkwell Platinum Pet Fountain 168oz. It holds a lot of water and even though it’s got a submersible pump in it, you can’t Drinwell Platinum Pet Fauntainhardly hear it.

The Drinkwell Platinum is self-contained meaning it doesn’t need to connect to a water line, and can therefore be placed anywhere in the home. It’s made of high-impact plastic that holds over one gallon of water, as well as a ½ gallon reservoir.

It also features a new snap-on lid to prevent accidental removal and a pre-filter to catch large particles before they reach the motor. And the adjustable control valve allows you to regulate water circulation for a water flow that works best for the pet. Needless to say, I was able to fly down to Miami and spend an awesome time with my sister and her family, and I solved the problem of how to keep my dog feed and watered without being home.

And when I got back, my house was still standing, my little buddy still had plenty of water and food left and he was very much happy to see me, and I was happy too. I give this doggie and kitty water fountain a thumbs up.

Pros

I have one less thing to worry about when it comes to my dog. I don’t have to worry about having fresh water always ready for him to drink, when I’m not home. It was very cheap and I think it’s a great value for my money.

Those who say it’s TOO NOISY: The water? The motor? Both? I find neither to be too noisy. The motor is only noisy when the water level is low – you will find this to be true with ANY motor that pumps water. The water noise well..Click Here For The Full Review

I bought this item 5 months ago, and it is a very good item, it is completely silent( if it has enough water) and it works perfectly since I got it to know. BUT BE AWARE!!!  Click Here To Read The Full Review.

I bought this to replace an aging Fresh Flow mainly because the carbon filters for the Drinkwell are far superior and they offer a much larger reservoir capacity. I’ve read quit a few negative reviews about the companies bad customer service and some folks request for support going unanswered. In my case I’ve had it for about three months now and I haven’t had a need to seek customer support from them. So I can only go by others experience. I’ve also read about the submersible pump being noisy, I find it to be very quiet personally. Most people say, cats like it better than dogs because of the flowing, cascading water fountain design.
